I’m listening to the radio. They just interviewed an Obama supporter.

I went on Obama’s website and he had pumpkin carving stensels. Once you’ve reached that level organizationally you know you’ve arrived.

and

He ran a six hundred million dollar business for over a year!

I’m getting scared.

Boehner Speaks Out

Back in May I posted about Ohio Republican John Boehner. He’s making headlines again calling Obama’s out on his record of voting present nearly 130 times in his short tenure in the Senate. Boehner says:

“In Congress, we have a red button, a green button and a yellow button, alright. Green means ‘yes,’ red means ‘no,’ and yellow means you’re a chicken s***.”

I’m really starting to like this guy.

Sunday Sampler

Wow. I just did a check and it was April the last time we had a Sunday Sampler…that’s April of 2007. Wow.

So I got the Internet at the house which is why, all of sudden, there have been posts again. I’m going to try to get the Sampler going, though I’ve learned not to make promises when it comes to posting.

  • Bunnies are by far the cutest thing ever spilled on the highway. You can find more here.
  • I’d never even heard of sea organs before I found this site. Apparently they’re all over the world. I guess this is the price I pay for living in East Tennessee instead of such lovely places as Croatia or the UK. (SFO has one too but I can’t even joke about living in the city by the bay.)
  • If you’re okay with a bit of language and a lot of passive aggression then check out this site. (Some posts are NSFW. If your IT department is militant about catching people surfing inappropriate websites you might want to steer clear of this one.

Thats it. Check back to see if I have the devotion to keep this up another week.

NPR

I think NPR running their “annual” fund drive during the final week of the campaign season shows they’re much more concerned about making money than they are spreading their own brand of Independent news. It’s even more telling that they didn’t respond to my email asking them why they would do such a thing. NPR has ensured that I never make a pledge.

I’m going to miss This American Life, Wait-Wait Don’t Tell Me, and Sound and Spirit but honestly, are these shows not good enough for commercial radio? Maybe it’s time we all start pressuring our representatives to end NPR as a not-for-profit, government subsidized institution and start making these elitist panhandlers pay their own way.

How is an Underwriter different than a sponsor? Their ads are tax deductible – that’s it.
