Brits just don’t get the mountain music

A group of hippies dedicated to keeping the summit of the UK highest peak, Ben Nevis, litter free were on one of their trash patrols when they spotted an unusual piece of refuse, an upright piano.

The piano was located just 200 meters from the peak of the 2400 feet summit and seemed to be complete except for the missing keyboard. Though no one knows how or when it was taken there, a cookie wrapper with a use by date in 1986 was found under the piano which researchers are using as a measure of how long its been there.

Update:

The Telegraph states this is actually an organ brought up by one Kenny Campbell, a Scotish woodcutter, while Michael Felman’s show Saturday claimed it was by a group of rubbish removes.? In either case it was said to be for charity.

OhGizmo, a popular gadget blog, has a short entry about a remarkable new product. This toilet paper dispenser actually prints rss feeds directly onto the TP to give you something fresh to read each time. Not only does it print but the thing weighs each visitor and gives them their own custom feed.

Josh Hamilton

I’ve been a fan of Josh Hamilton for a long time, every since I saw him in With Honors. One of my favorite films he’s done was The House of Yes, an odd little indie film staring Mr. Hamilton, Parker Posey, Freddie Prinz Jr. and for some reason Tori Spelling.? I won’t go very far into it other than to say the plot involves incest between twins, Josh Hamilton’s Marty and Parker Posey’s Jackie.

On the first Law and Order CI tonight Josh Hamilton played the part of the killer. His motive was to protect his little brother from being discovered as an arsonist.? The little brother’s motive was to get revenge for the truth of his origins, namely that his brother, Josh Hamilton, was actually his father.

So…what is it with Josh Hamilton and incest roles?

People Funnier Than Me

The gentlemen at Improve Everywhere have a slogan: We cause a scene. That they do. These guys get total strangers to help them pull elaborate pranks in public places. Things like a birthday party for a guy they don’t know on a day that wasn’t his birthday, a reading by long dead writer Anton Chekov and though over all the pranks in Aspen were not that funny, I really like the meet a black person (video) idea.

Over all though, I think my favorite thing of all was what Punk 1 said about interventions:

So you’re just intervening? Well, I like to intervene by throwing rocks at old people.

Sundown Story Number 1

I went and saw Government Mule at Sundown in the City last night with my good friend Sandra. We’ve always had a good time when we’ve gone out so I was very much looking forward to the evening, though I was a bit saddened when her husband couldn’t join us. The band was pretty good, but the fun started well before the music. I’ve got a few stories to tell. Seguir leyendo »

Reuters has the video from a Swiss Tourism commercial aimed at the wives of Europian Soccer fans. The ad doesn’t attempt to showcase the shopping, the cheese or the pansy-ass history of not getting involved in world conflicts. No, instead they show shot after shot of attractive young men. The intended message of the ad is to encourage women whose husbands will be off at the finals matches they should have a holiday with a a Swiss stud.

Check it out.

I’m normally pretty in the know when it comes to the odd ideas and theories and the ‘net seems to churn out, especially those that relate to pop-culture.? I’d never heard about the Communist Mario theories.

Newgrounds has a great animation.? It’s a bit violent and I recomend checking out the link above so you’ll get everything.

(The first link has some language and the second is a bit violent.? Be warned punks!)

I need more USB ports

Wired.com has a great gallary of the most obsurb USB devices ever created.? My favorites are the Barbie flash drive and the humidifier.? Why someone would install a device designed to spray water on your computer all day is beyond me.
