Recently my sister R complained about the amount of airtime Elmo gets on Sesame Street. I’ve long loathed the little red brat and I’ve had minimal exposure. Joel Stein wrote an article for calendarlive.com (L.A. Times) outlining everything that is wrong with Elmo. Very entertaining and educational, unlike today’s Sesame Street.
Oh, well, I get to hear Elmo EVERY DAY, so believe me, he got under my skin a long time ago (kind of like a chiggar). Yeah, and the Elmo segment on Sesame Street is SO ridiculously long. Can we say “the writers have run out of ideas?”
Incidentally, I am on a quest for old VHS tapes of Sesame Street from my childhood … it was SO much better and more creative back then.
